When the video(s) for Blackstar surfaced I honestly did not know Bowie had cancer and that he was on his last legs. He had a great while at the same time a soft way of conveying his message through his creative genius and videos. I miss him, we all miss him and I wish I could be part of the audience one more time.

In my humble opinion "Disturbed" should still have won the Grammy for "Best Rock Performance" over "Blackstar". Why Beyonce was in the mix I will never know. "Space Oddity" was my 1st introduction to David Bowie in 1969 when I was 12.

I saw Bowie once live in concert and also on Broadway when he was the lead in The Elephant Man…. a mesmerizing performance. We just anchored in Mustique where the Caribbean retreat home Bowie once owned overlooks our anchorage, so I’ve also been thinking a lot about his life and art. I was also blown away by Blackstar, its beauty, its darkness, its honesty. I listened to over and over, something I hadn’t done since purchasing a record albums back in the 70s. Thanks for your insightful words and memories of Bowie.

It is so very cold here in NH at the moment that I'm quite jealous that you are anchored in the Caribbean! I would've loved to see The Elephant Man live with him - I've only seen video excerpts. I did see three of his concert tours - 1983, 1987 & 1990. I missed the rest of his shows in the 90's because I was busy in grad school and starting a family. I'm mostly bummed that I missed him in Manchester, NH in 2003, two weeks before the heart attack that ended his touring career. Blackstar truly is a masterpiece. Thanks for sharing!
